St Hope Earl McKenzie (also known as Earl McKenzie) is a Jamaican   academic philosopher, poet, short-story writer, essayist, novelist, 

      painter and educator.

 He is a former Head of the English Department at Church Teachers' College, Mandeville, Jamaica. He is retired from the

   University of the West Indies, Mona, where he taught 

        Philosophy for many years.

He has had four solo art exhibitions.

    In 2000 he was awarded a Silver Musgrave Medal

        for outstanding merit in the field of Literature.
